Discover Lisbon from the University to the historic center. Metro, walk and stories through the Baixa, Chiado and the Tagus in a unique guided tour.

Discover Lisbon from a unique and enriching perspective on this 3-hour guided tour that starts at the University of Lisbon and takes you straight into the historic heart of the city. Designed for travelers who want more than just sightseeing, this experience combines metro travel, walking and storytelling to help you truly understand Lisbon.

The tour begins at Cidade Universitária, one of Lisbon’s main academic and cultural hubs. From there, we take the metro to Restauradores Square, where our walking tour through the historic center begins. This smart start allows you to save time and experience Lisbon as locals do.

We explore iconic landmarks such as the Rossio Train Station, a stunning 19th-century architectural masterpiece, and Lisbon’s most important squares: Rossio Square (Dom Pedro IV) and Figueira Square, symbols of the city’s rebirth after the 1755 earthquake.

Walking through the Baixa Pombalina, considered the world’s first modern urban plan, we reach the impressive Rua Augusta Arch and the majestic Commerce Square, overlooking the Tagus River. Here, you’ll learn about the equestrian statue of King José I, the government buildings and Lisbon’s maritime and political history.

The tour continues to Lisbon City Hall, where the Portuguese Republic was proclaimed in 1910. We then head up to the elegant Chiado district, known for its cafés, bookstores and theaters. Along the way, we visit iconic sites such as Bertrand Bookstore and the legendary Café A Brasileira.

We finish the tour by descending toward the lively Cais do Sodré area, passing through the famous Pink Street, and ending at the Ribeira Market – Time Out Market, now Lisbon’s gastronomic hotspot. At the end of the tour, your guide will be happy to provide personalized recommendations.

This tour is perfect for travelers who want to experience Lisbon with depth, context and comfort, guided by local experts and in small groups.
